So You Think you can Dance - It's a Success!

First, I want to thank those who donated money to Ashley's Liver Transplant Fund with the American Liver Foundation in honor of Ashley's birthday. We received four checks totaling $115 that I will be mailing to Ashley's liver transplant fund on Tuesday. Thanks to the Johnson family, the Koehne Family, the Stuart Family and the Blume family, your generous donation is very much appreciated.

Not only did Ashley receive money for her liver transplant fund but she received so many gift cards and cash that she needs a bigger wallet to put it all in. Ashley is so excited about using her gift cards from the Limited Too, Justice, and Target to go shopping for school clothes. Not to mention the gift cards from Tijuana Flats and Dance Unique. Ashley also received some cool shirts and homemade jewelry too. In other words, Miss Ashley was spoiled.

Using the theme "So You Think You Can Dance" to create Ashley's party was fun but a lot of work. Even though we had some issues with our CD players, decorations, not having enough room for all the groups to work on their choreography, running out of food, etc., I believe the girls had a fun. I know I certainly enjoyed watching them dance.

The success of the party was mainly due to our choreographers/judges from Studio 5D in Winter Springs, Florida. The party would not have been possible without the amazing talent of Bethany J, Caroline and Katherine D, and Ariel S. Thanks girls for making Ashley's party not only successful but memorable. I love you all!

I will share a slide show of the party as soon I finish putting it together. Thanks to all of you who came out to celebrate Ashley's 10th year of living a miracle. To the parents who sat and watched your children participant in this party, thank you for your friendship and your love for my daughter.

Special note: if your child attended Ashley's party and you don't want their picture on the internet, please email me at loveashley@loveforashley.com

Okay so I made you wait a couple years.  I promise I will try to get better at this.  Now to help  you catch up on what happened in 2018, 2019 and so far in 2020. Let's see...this might be a very short post at least for the years 2018 and 2019.   2018 In 2018, Brad graduated from the Univeristy of Alabama with a BS Degree in Economics and Philosphy in May. He is still dating his high school sweetheart, McKenzie, there is talk of marriage.  After graduation, Brad got a job with Reuters as part of their Graduate Leadership Program.  Then the division of Reuters that Brad worked for became Refinitiv. He lived in NYC for about six weeks for training and then lived in Chicago for about 9 months before they transferred him to Houston to work as a Customer Success Manager in Commodities and Energy. McKenzie also graduated with a BS in Pharmacy but continued with her graduate studies.  Ashley is a Junior in college and she is doing well academically and h...

It's been a while. Did you know...

that Ashley was in the hospital  after Thanksgiving and before Christmas?  She had a bleed. She has varices.  Just a little reminder that she is not healthy and has a life threatening liver disease. that we lost our beloved beautiful puppy, Sarge, on January 2.  It was sudden, shocking, and sad.  We think he had leukemia based on his symptoms.  Not sure if we will ever get another dog.  Sarge was one of a kind and a perfect fit for our laid back, drama free family. that Ashley made the Principal's Honor Roll her 1st Semester of high school while taking all honors courses.  She is beautiful and smart. that Ashley is still dancing for her high school dance team minus a solo this year. She loves being part of the team but really misses competing in her favorite style of dance, lyrical/contemporary. that after a couple years of not having a dance studio to call home.  We think we may have finally found just the place.  Maybe som...

Some Things

NO SURGERY.  Yes, you got it Brad does not need surgery on his elbow. The MRI results showed no tears, breaks, pulls....no injury at all.  We are so happy about this especially since this surgery would have cost us $6,000 out of pocket.  Brad needs rehab to build strength.  He is working on pitching exercises provided by a sports trainer.  Currently, Brad is not playing baseball although he been asked to play with several travel ball teams.  We are looking at the possibility of hiring a pitching coach.  I know Brad is happy that he now has a good chance to get on the varsity baseball team next spring since he has no injury. I have been sick off and on for the last few weeks which is the reason for the lack of updates.  We have plenty of reasons to update.  Like, Ashley quit dance.  Not really. But kind of.  Ashley finished her last year competing in dance a couple Sunday's ago.  As stated before, this year in dance ha...
