In my post found here I wrote about My New Life Resolutions. Today I am going to share with you just a few of my New Year Resolutions. These are just small but they will make a big impact.
1. Living without Soda - this is actually pretty difficult but so far I am doing well. I have decided to live without soda for two reasons. First, drinking Soda can easily put unwanted extra weight on my body, by not drinking soda I can easily loose 5 pounds. And second, I have very high blood pressure and I am trying to control my blood pressure with very little meds if none at all. Soda has proven to be a culprit in causing high blood pressure. My choice of drink now is water, lots of water; and if I want to flavor my water I use Crystal Light packets.
2. Reading my Bible daily - I profess to be a Christian and I am strong in my faith but I am embarrassed to admit, I have never read the Bible. I know Bible stories and a few Bible verses. I went to a Christian school and I grew up in a Bible believing family who went to church every Sunday and other special celebrations but I personally have never read the Bible. At Christmas, I purchased a Yearly Bible; this will allow me to read the Bible in a year. I am enjoying this resolution the most, I hope to come out of it in a year a better person and a stronger Christian; more God-like.
3. Keeping a Journal - in a sense I have been doing that here on this blog since the beginning but I haven't been real. My Journal will help me sort my anger, my thoughts, my insecurities (and I have a lot) and my faults (I have a lot of those too). My Journal will allow me to get real with my life, thus preventing me from ignoring issues or problems that may be elevating my blood pressure. Journaling or getting real has been difficult, I don't like to admit that my life isn't as perfect on the inside that appears to be on the outside.
Reading the Bible and writing in the Journal should go hand and hand, and I hope to combine those with daily devotionals as well. As for my New Life Resolutions, they are still in the works but I should be able to make an announcement within the next month or so.
