The kids are on spring break this week and as luck would have it I am working my second full week at my new job; great for me not so great for the kids. My only day off is Good Friday but unfortunately we will be spending that day at the Shands Hospital Liver Clinic. But I have to say it has been a blessed week. In today's economic times, I am blessed beyond belief to have a job that fits perfectly with my family life.
A new job you say?
Yes, I interviewed for this job in January, they hired someone else and prayers were answered when they offered me the job just about two months after they interviewed me. The blessing is not only a new job but the person I replaced. The person who trained me, is a sweetheart and it was kind of sad to see her go. We became friends instantly. We believe it was a divine intervention.
My new job is working as secretary for the pastor of a small Baptist church. It's a perfect fit, I work part-time from 9 am to 1 pm and it offers flexibility. The flexibility part is important because of Ashley's unpredictable health. It was hard finding a job not just because of the national unemployment rate but because I couldn't and wouldn't accept a job that did not fit my needs; the needs of my family. As much as I needed a job, it had to be right for me and not just a job that paid well.
I have to say week two of my new job has proven that this job is truly a PERFECT fit. Thank God.
Off subject but not really.
April is National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Month. If you haven't done so already please sign an organ donor card but it is even more important to tell your family that you want to be an organ/tissue donor. Tomorrow I will post the Facts/Fiction of organ and tissue donation. But I want to leave you with one thing to remember:
18 people a die each day because someone said no to organ donation. You or someone you love could be one of those 18 people; maybe not today but someday. Think about it.
